Kobe Bryant, the National Basketball Association's 2009 Finals most valuable player after leading Los Angeles Lakers to the championship, is visiting Manila this month.
Nike said in a statement that Manila will be Bryant's first stop in his six-city tour in Asia starting July 21. The phenomenal NBA star will also visit Singapore, Taipei, Hong Kong, Shanghai and Chengdu.
The sportswear company said the tour gives Bryant a chance to check back young Asians he met in previous tours.
Bryant said he is planning on pushing the kids harder to "give them a better sense of the dedication and hard work it takes to be a champion."
"I'm looking forward to returning to Asia to see the progress of the kids have made since my last visit," the NBA star said.
Meanwhile, Nike announced that during the start of Bryant's tour, it will also launch its latest design Nike Dream Season.
"Developed to meet the needs of outdoor basketball players in Asia, the Nike Dream Season was designed with insights from Kobe," Nike said.
The company said the latest Kobe design will be sold exclusively in Asia.
